Ijazah in Quran Recitation Course

In the “Ijazah in Quran Recitation” course by E-Quran Classes, we teach proper recitation to the students with the issuance of an Ijazah.  Ijazah is an Arabic word that refers linguistically to “permission, authorization or license” and technically means the permission to narrate through the established chain of authorized narrators. In other words, Ijazah is a certification that one has approval to recite and teach the Holy Quran with Tajweed by the sequence of reciters that prime to Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and to Allah Almighty.  

In this course, the learners will be able to get an Ijazah from an already certified Quran tutor in recitation of the Quran.  This Ijazah can either be in Quran Reading or in recitation by heart which totally depends on the preferences and learning capabilities of the student. 

The tutor, which in this is a certified Quran Reciter will listen to the recitation of the whole Quran by the student with applied rules of Tajweed. And if he thinks the recitation level is good, he will sign the certificate.

Ijazah has different types: 

Two significant types of Ijazah are discussed underneath 

  • Ijazah in Quran Recitation 

When a person learns to read or recite the Quran, he is given the Ijazah in Quran Recitation. 

  • Ijazah in Quran Memorization 

When a person learns the whole of Quran by Heart and passes evaluation tests, then he is given the Ijazah in Quran Memorization. 

Qirats of the Holy Quran 

Qirat is an Arabic word that literally means “manners of recitation”. Each Qirat has its own tajweed rules.  

There are ten types of Qirat: 

  1. Naafi’ Al-Madanee (Madinah) 

Imam Malik and Imam Ahmed bin hanbal did the recitation of Quran using this manner. Ibn Katheer al-Makee. (Makkah) Imam Shafi recited in this manner. 

  1. Asim al-Kufi (Koofah)Imaam Abu Hanifa recited in this manner.  
  1. Abu Amr al-Basri (Basra)
  2. Ibn Aamir ash-Shami (Syria)
  3. Hamzah Al-Kufi (Koofah)
  4. Al-Kisaa’ee
  5. . Abu Ja’far Al-Madanee (Madinah)
  6.  Yaqub ibn Al-Basri (Basra) Imam Bukhari did recitation in this manner.
